孙茂松教授2007年9月11日在香港理工大学参加了该校博士生的博士论文答辩（论文题目“Chinese Collocation Extraction and its Application in Natural Language Processing”）, 并与Department of Computing系主任Keith C.C. Chan教授、副主任Lu Qin教授共进午餐，进行了友好的交谈。
